Xbox's February update is rolling out to players around the world and includes improvements for players who own Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and now mobile devices.
As detailed in an official Xbox Wire post, the February update introduces a new thumbstick adjustment tool for the Xbox Wireless Controller. Designed to “address minor thumbstick issues such as inconsistent response,” it appears to be a way for players to resolve controller issues without having to send their controller in for repair.
This should be especially useful for players who have the know-how to self-repair their controllers. Microsoft sells official replacement parts through its online store, and the Xbox Wire post says you can use the thumbstick recalibration tool to ensure your replaced module works as intended.
Xbox Remote Play has also received some pretty significant upgrades for players who want to play away from their TV screens. This feature currently supports customizable touch controls for mobile his devices in “over 100 games”. If you use the Xbox app on your Android or iOS device, you can now adjust the touch controls to your liking.
Improvements have also been made to filtering and sorting in the My Games and Apps menu. You can now sort games within your library by accessibility, supported languages, and additional technical features. This also ties in with the new Remote Play feature, as you can filter titles to find those that support customizable touch controls.
Rounding out the February update is a new “Auto Profile Sign Out” feature. This makes it much easier to play the console in shared or public spaces such as hospitals or universities. The Xbox Wire post states: “Some children's hospitals have programs that provide consoles that patients can drive into their rooms to play and give them time to connect with friends.
“New options make it easier to delete a player's profile upon sign-out, and you no longer need to check to see if a patient has signed out of the console when moving a game cart between patients.”
