A woman was arrested Friday after police say she tried to run over a hospital security guard in Victorville.
According to the Victorville Police Department, the suspect has been identified as Lynn Duenasrujian, 51.
Around 1:25 p.m., officers responded to Victor Valley Global Medical Center, where hospital officials said the suspect was driving a Toyota Corolla and was located near the emergency room. He allegedly tried to run over the officer and run away.
Police found the woman still driving in the parking lot. When she saw the officer's car, she drove straight toward it, authorities said.
She eventually avoided the police car and left the scene at high speed. Police attempted to stop the woman, but she refused to pull over and officers began pursuing her.
As the suspect approached the Victorville Courthouse area, officers conducted a successful PIT maneuver and disabled the suspect's vehicle in the courthouse parking lot.
The woman refused to get out of the car, so a pepper ball was fired at her car to end the standoff.
The suspect was arrested on multiple charges including assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon/non-firearm on a police officer, and fleeing police with disregard for safety.
She was booked into the West Valley Detention Center and is being held on $100,000 bail.
The motive for her actions is unknown as the incident is currently under investigation.
