On Wednesday night, the Bear River Lady Bruins (20-6, 10-3) hosted the Wheatland Pirates (8-17, 3-10) for Senior Night. The Bruins won the game 57-32.
“It's always fun to win on senior night,” Lady Bruins head coach Jen Krill said. “We tried to give our seniors a lot of playing time and got everyone on the board except for Ella. I think trying to improve every day is a success.”
There was little scoring in the first quarter, with the Lady Bruins leading 9-3 at the end of the first quarter. Bear River's scoring picked up in the second quarter, with Chrissy Kelly scoring eight points for 17 points. The Lady Bruins held the Pirates to just four points in the quarter and entered halftime with a 26-7 lead.
The Lady Bruins used a balanced scoring attack to score 22 points in the third quarter. Kelly and Taryn Krill had seven points, Marianna Moya Krill had six points and Samara Tucker had two points. Bear River led 48-20 after three quarters.
Wheatland outscored the Lady Bruins 12-9 in the final quarter, but the game was already decided.

The Lady Bruins will travel to Marysville to take on the Indians (21-4, 12-1) in their final regular season game before next week's playoffs at 5:30 p.m.
“We know we want to play hard and compete with Marysville,” Krill said. They are tough and physical. It's long. It's big. They're fast. We want to give them the best and see what happens. I feel like we're moving in the right direction. We are playing hard together. We are becoming more united as a team every day. ”
The Bear River Bruins men's basketball team (16-11, 8-5) heads out on the road Wednesday night to take on the Wheatland Pirates (5-21, 2-11). They won 74-44.
“It was a great defensive effort all around,” Bruins head coach Randy Billingsley said. “We kept the lead to 15 points in the second half.”
