The Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts continues its SCORE music appreciation concert series featuring notable musicians from around the world. The concert will be held inside the Turner Center Art Gallery, 527 N. Patterson Street in Valdosta.
Third concert of the season features Robert Henry, February 6, 2024, 7:00 p.m.. American pianist Robert Henry is acclaimed for his rare combination of musical acumen, creative inspiration, and prodigious technique, as a noted orchestral soloist, recitalist, accompanist, and chamber musician. Internationally recognized.
Robert Henry received his Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Maryland and also studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Glinka Conservatory in St. Petersburg, Russia. He studied with pianists Larissa Dedova, Sergei Zhevanovsky, Anne Koscielny, David Watkins, Sergei Babayan, and Andre Watts.
Highlights of Robert Henry's career include his solo recital debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., and Wigmore Hall in London. included. He has given concerts, master classes, and lectures under the auspices of the American Society of Pianists, the Chopin Foundation of America, the National Gallery of Art, the Phillips Collection, Strathmore Hall, the University of Alabama, the University of California, Berkeley, Georgia, Maryland, and the South. It is carried out. He attended the University of Carolina, Arkansas State University, and Georgia State University. In addition to performing throughout the United States, he has performed in Canada, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Italy, Poland, Russia, and China.
He regularly gives lectures, master classes, residencies, and youth concerts, and operates his own private studio in Atlanta, Georgia. He was named Artist in Residence at Kennesaw State University's School of Music in 2003 and received the “Distinguished Alumni Award” in 2009 while completing his bachelor's degree. He was appointed Director of Piano Research in 2017. Dr. Henry is also the director of the renowned Atlanta Boys Choir. Robert Henry lives with his wife and young son in historic Marietta, Georgia. He is a Steinway artist.

His 2023-2024 SCORE season will feature two of his student performances at 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on each event day, in traditional classrooms provided by local school systems.
