A traveler recently found himself in a bind when he arrived at his “pre-booked hotel” in Bangalore to find that it was undergoing renovations.

In the post, he wrote, “@makemytrip and @oyorooms scam alert in Bangalore. I came here and found out that the hotel I had booked was under renovation. There are living souls here. I didn't. This is tantamount to cheating! After wasting 2 hours here they cut the money from my refund. Shame on you!”
This post quickly gained traction. Many users had similar experiences and echoed the sentiment of feeling cheated by the lack of transparency in the booking process.
