Newark-based Prudential Financial announced Wednesday that group insurance president Yanella Frias will become executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective March 15. Mr. Frias, who has been with the company for approximately 30 years, will join the executive team as an officer and report directly to Prudential Vice Chairman Robert Falzon.
She will succeed Ken Tanji and will remain with the company until September 30 to ensure a smooth transition.

During his tenure at Prudential, Frias held a number of senior management positions in finance, operations, and Prudential's insurance and retirement businesses.

Prior to his appointment as President of Group Insurance in 2021, Mr. Frias served as President of Prudential Retirement. Previously at Prudential, he led the Investment and Pension Solutions business within Retirement and was responsible for several businesses, including pension risk transfer, international reinsurance and related domestic and international institutional product innovation efforts.
Prior to this, Mr. Frias spent approximately 20 years in various financial roles of increasing responsibility, including financial assistant at Prudential Financial, CFO of individual life insurance, and CFO of the pension division.
