Last week, I went to Paris with a female friend. I'll post some photos here, so please take a look…
I felt very lucky to be able to take a break from work, raising children, and living and enjoy this city to the fullest. We took a long walk around town, stopping for coffee and small beautiful eclairs.
We scored an Airbnb, a gorgeous apartment in the 11th arrondissement. You can have a 2 bedroom apartment, a 5 bedroom apartment (which we booked) or both together for a total of 7 bedrooms.
This balcony sign made me laugh. I got it!
Our favorite meal was at Moko Nut, a small lunch restaurant run by the husband and wife team of Moko Hirayama and Omar Koletem. Her young daughter happened to be munching on a leg of lamb when we arrived. (Moko explained that the school was on strike.)
In other words! ! ! ! The flavors were explosive, I especially liked the pillowy mussel gnocchi.
We also fell in love with the 11th arrondissement. The borough has a modern, neighborhood feel and is full of trendy cafes, restaurants, and shops. If you have a chance to stay, please do so!
My honorary niece (left, flower girl at the wedding!) and two of her friends joined us from the UK, bringing some fun giggles and information about recent college life. One night we all played a funny game of celebrities (have you ever played one?). The game includes three rounds: 1) You can use any word to describe the celebrity. 2) Only one word for her can be used. 3) Play charades. But I also added a fourth one: 4) Although it's a charade. under the blanket. I still laugh just thinking about it.
our crew! Female friends move the world.
Lastly, I promised to report back on street style, but what struck me was how many outfits were in head-to-toe black. Think black scarves, black jackets, black shirts, black jeans, black socks, and black shoes. As for the sprocket, should it be made in France?
Of course, the magic was in the details. Soft, draped leather jackets, etc.
…Sheer tights with hearts and dots…
…Thick lug sole boots or loafers…
…Shiny red nail polish…
…and all kinds of thick scarves, thin scarves, and sometimes double scarves. (A Parisian is a Parisian.)
Thank you for reading. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. And thank you Paris for such a wonderful time. we love you.
PS What is your best travel tip from a past trip to Paris with your mom?
