SHELDON, Iowa — Officials at Northwest Iowa Community College (NCC) in Sheldon said they are proud to announce that one of their programs has once again been ranked highly.
NCC officials said the company's automotive and light diesel program was voted among the top 20 automotive programs in the nation in the Tomorrow's Tech2023 School of the Year Contest. “This prestigious recognition, sponsored by O’Reilly Auto Parts and WIX Filters, honors NCC’s status as a leading institution in automotive education in the United States,” they said.
NCC Automotive Instructor Chuck Ball reflected on the history of the program and its continued evolution as the industry advances. “Founded in 1966, our automotive program has not only won multiple awards, but we have also consistently adapted our curriculum to meet the changing needs of the industry. Publication delivered to more than 1,100 schools Being recognized by 'Tomorrow's Technician' confirms the quality education we provide our students.”
The next phase of the competition will include a unique challenge in which instructors and students from the top 20 schools, including NCC, will be asked to create videos showcasing their automotive programs and learning environments. These videos will be published on the Tomorrow's Tech YouTube channel, giving each school a platform to highlight their educational strengths. A panel of judges from Tomorrow's Tech and WIX Filters will review these submissions and select four regional finalists and, ultimately, a winner.
