Corporate finance veteran Michael Grau has joined Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corporation in a concurrent role, tasked with overseeing the live entertainment specialist's financial matters.
Mr. Grau will join the company as executive officer in charge of finance on February 12, and after a transition period, he will take on the additional responsibility of CFO from April 1.
In this role, Mr. Grau will work closely with MSG Entertainment's management team to support the long-term direction of the company and will report to James L. Dolan, Executive Chairman and CEO of MSG Entertainment.
He also provides strategic financial insight into all aspects of the business and is responsible for financial planning and analysis, administration, treasury, investor relations, tax and procurement functions.
Mr. Grau joins MSG Entertainment from Altice USA, a publicly traded cable communications company where he served as CFO. He assumed the role in 2019 after a nearly 20-year career with his Cablevision Systems Corporation, which was acquired by Altice in 2016.
“I am delighted to welcome Michael to MSG Entertainment in this important role,” said Dolan. “Michael was previously a key member of Cablevision's finance team and brings significant financial and operational experience to this role, which will be valuable as we continue to drive the company's key initiatives. That will be proven.”
“MSG Entertainment is a leader in live entertainment and I am honored to have the opportunity to leverage my experience in this role,” Grau added. “I look forward to working with our executive team and the entire finance function to help us continue to deliver superior results across our finance operations and drive our business priorities.”
MSG Entertainment's portfolio includes New York's Madison Square Garden, The Theater at Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, Beacon Theater, Chicago Theater and the original Christmas Spectacular starring the Radio City Rockettes.
Last year, the group completed a spinoff that separated its pure live music business from MSG Entertainment's state-of-the-art Las Vegas facility, sports television network and hospitality business.
