Lane Automotive uses robots to automate its fulfillment workflow.
Aftermarket racing and performance auto parts retailer/wholesaler is automating its distribution operations in North America.
Lane Automotive operates a 10,000 square foot factory. The showroom store at the southwest Michigan distribution center is powered by the Exotec Skypod robotic picking system, which was integrated by Convevco and Exotec in December 2023.
Specifically, Lane Automotive installed 62 robots, five picking stations, and 59,600 storage bins at its Southwest Michigan distribution center. After implementing the Skypod system, the facility is expected to increase throughput by six times, reduce delivery times, and support a quality customer experience.
The company selected Exotec robotics to manage multichannel fulfillment of its facility inventory of more than 100,000 SKUs across 660 brands, while improving the speed and accuracy of its picking, packing, and shipping operations.
This includes time-sensitive customer orders, many of which are placed right before special events or race/competition weekends.
