Krauss Auto Group has acquired three dealerships from Sutherlin Automotive in a landmark deal. The acquisitions include Sutherlin Nissan of Fort Myers, Sutherlin Genesis of Fort Myers and Sutherlin Nissan of Cape Coral, for a total value of more than $110 million.
CEO Vernon Kraus said the acquisition is a way for the company to expand and return to its roots. Klaus grew up in the area and attended Bishop Verotto High School in Fort Myers, then completed his education at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. He sees this as a full-circle moment that could support the auto industry in a rapidly growing market.
Mike Spinaz will serve as General Manager of the Fort Myers Nissan dealership and will continue his responsibilities at the two acquired dealerships. He will also take on a 40% minority ownership role in both Nissan stores. “His continued involvement will ensure a seamless transition and continued success,” Kraus said.
The name of the retailer will not change. Nissan of Cape Coral, Nissan of Fort Myers, and Fort Myers Genesis. With the addition of these three locations, Krause Auto Group now has 23 dealerships nationwide.
Going forward, each store's rebranding will emphasize the new owners' “commitment to excellence, customer satisfaction and innovation.”
Krause Auto Group is a network of family-owned dealerships across Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida. The 33-year-old company's portfolio includes Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce, BMW, Mercedes, Ford, Lincoln, Nissan, Hyundai, Genesis, Lamborghini and Lotus.
