Israeli cybersecurity startup Seal Cybersecurity Solutions today announced that it has raised $7.4 million in seed funding to expand its operations and development efforts.
Founded by former members of Israel's Intelligence Unit 8200, Seal Security leverages large-scale language models to create automated pipelines that improve patching capabilities. The company's service provides access to security patches across five programming languages. It is said to be able to repair over 95% of critical and high-severity vulnerabilities.
The service is designed to streamline security patch maintenance, eliminating vulnerability backlogs and associated technical debt. Seal Security allows users to protect containers and base images with support for RPM-based distribution and cryptographic signature patches, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
A centralized control panel allows customers to control the remediation process, including organization-wide remediation, from a single point, eliminating the need to update multiple repositories. The service also provides support for continuous integration and continuous deployment, allowing users to maintain security policy posture at every stage of the pipeline without hindering deployment.
Other features include a cloud-native artifact server with patch access, which allows you to fix both direct and transitive dependencies. Seal Security seamlessly integrates with a variety of coding languages, patch management systems, and open source platforms through application programming interfaces.
Vertex Ventures Israel Inc. led the seed round, with participation from Crew Capital LLC, PayPal Alumni Fund LLC, and Cyber Club London Ltd.
“Open source software is at the core of nearly all innovation, but securing it requires a tremendous amount of manual effort and cross-functional collaboration,” said Itamar Shah, co-founder and CEO. told CTech. “We are tackling this issue head-on by enabling security teams to automate and scale vulnerability remediation.”
