The next Hawaiian Music Series in 2024 will feature well-known local musician Joshua Kafla. The free event will be held on February 29th at 6pm at Hale Huikeike at the Bailey House in Wailuku.
Joshua Khafra is the frontman of the prominent Maui music group Naf Said. As an accomplished musician, he composes and arranges many songs, drawing inspiration from a wide range of genres including ska, reggae, funk, R&B, classic rock, alternative, and pop, creating the band's unique sound. He has played an important role in building it up. .
Naf Said's first album was nominated in various categories at the 2005 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards and won multiple awards at the Hawaii Music Awards, including prestigious titles such as Group of the Year. obtained. The chart-topping single “Cherry Bomb” won the coveted Song of the Year award.
This free concert is a 16-year tradition held on the last Thursday of each month. Made possible by the Lahaina Restoration Foundation with support from the Maui County Economic Development Authority, this month's special site is brought to you by the Maui Historical Society.
