CORNING, N.Y. (WETM) – The Corning San Giovanni Sister City Association will join the mayor in bringing Corning Painted Post Area School District faculty and students to Italy to participate in a sister city exchange program this February. I will dispatch.
The association plans to send two high school students, two high school teachers, Superintendent Michelle Caulfield, and Corning Mayor Bill Borland and his wife to San Giovanni Valdarno, Italy, on February 15, 2024. Signed a sister city exchange agreement.
The program, now in its 17th year, is the result of an agreement between the city of Corning, New York, and the city of San Giovanni Valdarno, Italy.
Corning Painted Post students and teachers will stay with host families during their visit to the city and attend the new exchange school Lisei Giovanni. The mayors will also reenact the sister city agreement.
In addition to participating in the exchange program, they will also visit Tuscany, including Florence, Venice, and Rome. They are scheduled to return to Corning on February 25th.
