Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has denied claims that there was a breach in its security system.
After an X post claiming that Binance user data is available on GitHub, Binance Support said in a post dated February 5 that there was no breach in the platform's systems and that user accounts remain secure. This is the reaction of the company's employees to the statement of User X, who said that the Binance user's KYC data was allegedly sold on the darknet and leaked by hackers.
The internet hacker previously claimed that he had access to KodexGlobal's law enforcement request account, allowing buyers to “subpoena” user information from companies such as Coinbase, Binance, Chainlink, and many others.
Cybercrime solutions provider Hudson Rock reports that hackers are selling access to Law Enforcement Request System accounts on BreachForums for $5,000 for the entire account or $300 per Emergency Data Request (EDR) Did.
“An alarming trend is emerging as threat actors are able to hack the law enforcement systems of major organizations and legally request users' personal information. This exploitation is often linked to identity theft, It leads to extortion and financial loss.”
