Years before Nick Cassatly became a lawyer and real estate agent in Palm Beach, something happened inadvertently during his childhood on the island.
Back then, when he was a tennis and lacrosse player at what is now called Palm Beach Day Academy and the then-young son of a popular boutique owner on Worth Avenue, his hometown was deeply ingrained in his heart.
“Everything that makes Palm Beach so special is in your blood from a young age and you don't even realize it,” Cassatly told the Daily News. “No matter where I go, I'll be with you.”
That's one reason the 38-year-old, who now lives in West Palm Beach, has been drawn to the island again and again, spending a large portion of each week here for work and pleasure.

1. I am a lifelong learner. I love acquiring new skills and knowledge, whether it's through reading, online courses, or simply trying new things.
2. Music is a big part of my life. Playing the guitar, attending concerts, or enjoying the guitar at home are some of my greatest joys.
3. I am lucky to have a wonderful and supportive family. I love spending time with them and creating lasting memories through family dinners, vacations, or simply enjoying everyday moments together.
As the third generation of a Palm Beach family, you have an innate sense of Palm Beach's history and your family's role in that history. How has Palm Beach changed in recent years, most importantly to you?
As someone who grew up in Palm Beach, I have noticed a significant recent influx of new residents, bringing growth and fresh energy. These changes are opening up new business opportunities, attracting diverse talent, and are very exciting. While preserving our small-town charm is important, I'm also interested in how these new elements can positively contribute to the character of our community.
You are a real estate agent employee in the Palm Beach office of Brown Harris Stevens, but you are also an attorney. What are its benefits?
My background in law and real estate finance provides a strong foundation for understanding the complexities of transactions. This helps us defend our clients' interests and smoothly resolve any challenges that may arise.
What are your three favorite ways to spend your free time?
1. Meals and good wine with friends and family.
2. Play tennis.
3. Read and work on exciting projects.
Having grown up in Palm Beach, what are your favorite restaurants and favorite things to eat there? Now that you're an adult, what are your two favorite island restaurants and their favorite dishes?
Growing up, I've always loved taboos. The hot steak salad there was great and I went there often with my family. I had some great memories and was sad to see them go. (Now), Pizza Al Fresco — The outdoor dining area there is unique. My favorite pizza is the Santa Sicilia with oyster mushrooms and truffles. Palm Beach Grill always attracts attention and has an exciting scene during the season. I love ribs!
You've served as co-chair or committee member for various charity events, including the Red Cross Young Friends Beach Bash, where guests are encouraged to wear colorful Lilly Pulitzer styles. What motivates you to participate in events like this?
My involvement in charity events like Beach Bash stems from my strong belief in contributing to the community and staying active, especially when supporting causes that make real change. We are fortunate to be part of a generous and supportive community, and we are excited to contribute in any way we can.
