Governor Brian P. Kemp announced today that auto parts manufacturer and supplier Duwon Climate Control America, Inc. will invest more than $30 million in a new manufacturing facility in Metter, creating 200 new jobs in Candler County. Then he announced. This will be his second automotive supplier announced within six months in Candler County.
“Georgia’s growth as a national leader in auto manufacturing continues to benefit communities in all four corners of Georgia.” Governor Brian Kemp said: “In fiscal year 2023 alone, 82 percent of new jobs were created and more than $20 billion in investments were directed to communities outside of metro Atlanta. The City of Metter and Candler County are the primary beneficiaries of that success. We are very excited to have Doowon Climate Control America, Inc. join this community.”
Doowon Group was founded in South Korea in 1974 and specializes in the design and manufacturing of automotive air conditioning systems. The company will become a major supplier to Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (Kia Georgia) and Hyundai Motor Group.

Doowon Climate Control America, Inc.'s new manufacturing facility is located in the Metter-Candler County I-16 Industrial Park, a Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development (GRAD) certified site. The facility will primarily produce air conditioning systems used in conventional and electric vehicles. Operations are expected to begin in 2026.
