Love is in the air, and Midcoast Humane invites you on a journey to find the perfect companion for your PAW this Valentine's Day season. Join us for a unique Speed His Dating event with a fur twist on Friday, February 9th from 5pm to 7pm at the Adoption Center located at 5 Industrial Parkway in Brunswick.
Animal lovers have the opportunity to experience the magic of connection with our adorable, adoptable dogs and cats. Participants will be able to spend two minutes with each adoptable pet, discover their personality, and potentially find a life-long companion to share their heart and home with.
“For people who aren't sure what they want in a new pet, speed dating is an ideal way to meet a variety of pets in a pressure-free environment while having fun,” said Jess Townsend. Executive Director of Midcoast Humane.
Midcoast Humane will be sharing “dating profiles” of pets selected for the event on its social media channels through February 9th. “Right now, we have about 300 animals and each animal needs consent” to find a loving home, Townsend said. Anything we can do to bring attention to these homeless animals and bring them closer to adoption is a win-win for the shelter, the adopters, and of course the animals. ”
This event is open to all animal lovers, not just those interested in adoption. “Our goal is not only to create lasting connections between humans and animals, but also to provide a heartwarming and enjoyable experience for everyone involved,” Townsend said. “Whether you're ready to add a new member to your family or just want some furry cuddles, your evening will be fun and entertaining.”
Research shows that spending time with companion animals is beneficial for humans, and may lower blood pressure and reduce feelings of loneliness. This event celebrates the joy of companionship and the unspoken connection that is forged between humans and animals.
