OnePlus seems to be jumping on the smartphone AI bandwagon quite cautiously. There was no mention of the upcoming AI features during the OnePlus 12's global launch, but the Chinese phone maker is now pushing it to the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 11.
Tips from Reddit user Milkyteapls and frequent users Android permissions Contributor Mishal Rahman, OnePlus' AI features are currently being rolled out in the latest Color OS update in China. Global OnePlus smartphones run on Oxygen OS, while the Chinese model comes with Color OS. There is little difference between the two operating systems except for their names. Anyway, OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 12 will get new AI tools in February's Color OS 14 update.
“”It can be obtainedAI Summarizer” It generates call summaries “by extracting time, location, action items, and other important information from calls.” The name of this feature is similar to what Samsung offers with Galaxy AI, but it works differently. Samsung's feature is designed to summarize documents, websites, and notes. The OnePlus tool appears to be solely aimed at summarizing call recordings.
That said, the company is also adding another feature Article summary A tool that allows users to extract important information from articles with one tap.
OnePlus is also adding something called “AIGC Remover” This is essentially an intelligent photo editing tool that removes unwanted objects and people from your photos. It sounds exactly like Magic Eraser on Pixel phones or Samsung's new AI editing tool.
Apart from the above, OnePlus has also upgraded the 'Breeno Touch'. Breeno is apparently OPPO and OnePlus' China-specific digital assistant. OnePlus' changelog says, “We can now recognize on-screen content and provide quick access to related services.”
In addition to these OnePlus-specific AI features, Color OS also appears to have other AI enhancements. One of them is AI Ambient Sound Cancellation, which reduces ambient noise during calls.
