Looking back, I was wrong. When I saw it for the first time, pet cube cam 360I thought this was just a portable security camera for the home, except it's been repackaged with a pet theme as a way to keep an eye on your pets when you're not home.
Now that I have experienced the product firsthand, I realize that my perception was wrong. This is actually a smart security camera, designed in so many ways specifically to ease the minds of nervous and pet-loving owners like me. The founders of this Ukrainian company have thought it through.
First, for those with animals that jump on counters, railings, tables, etc., this extremely lightweight plug-in camera has an “all-see” 360-degree camera that both pans and tilts upwards. It is installed. And below and to the side. All the while, it rotates on its base and delivers crisp 1080p HD live streaming video with a 105-degree wide-angle view that covers the entire room. You can also digitally zoom in 8x.
Plus, you can talk to your pet through the app and the camera's practically clear built-in speaker. So if you want to tap into your inner Mr. Dolittle and tell your dog to get off the couch or, like me, tell him to come home for dinner soon (yes, he totally We understand), this feature can help ease your dog's anxiety. Night vision is also impressive. To protect your privacy, you can block the lens view without unplugging your camera.
Through a smartphone app, you can receive important smart sound and motion alert notifications in real time about potentially dangerous events triggered by what your device hears or sees.
Oh, by the way, I was only able to get this app to work on an old iPhone I found in a drawer. For Android, keep in mind that it's the latest model running the latest operating system. The Petcube app cannot be paired with the camera. In fact, I couldn't even find a camera. Speaking of which, I believe the camera comes with a set of screws and plastic anchors that can be used to secure the camera to the wall. However, I think it would look unnatural if the plug was sticking out. So I left it on the kitchen counter.
To get the most out of Petcube, you'll probably need to install several cameras around your home. That way, you can follow your pet from room to room. Because the truth is, they don't sit in the same place all day.
The company manufactures several products that work together. They sent me a tracking device that attaches to my dog's collar. I love that it comes in a dog bone shaped container. However, the device itself is too large to fit on my dog's collar. I think this is more suitable for large dogs.
Still, I enthusiastically support the company's efforts. These products will give any pet owner added peace of mind. It is also relatively inexpensive compared to other home security cameras.
