The nightclub owner told WISN 12 News that 26-year-old Andre Gregory was trying to resolve an argument in the parking lot when someone pulled out a gun. That person killed Gregory and seriously injured two 34-year-olds.
Gregory's sister, Toneisha Beals, said it was “terrible” that Gregory was killed while trying to work.
“We lost our brother, you know what I'm saying? But we all lost a caring, gentle person that I feel everyone needs.” said Beals.
As crowds filled the sidewalks and steps leading to Eve Lounge, Gregory's sister, Thad Rose, said Wednesday's celebration of life was something Gregory loved.
“He wanted to see everyone come together, so I feel like that's what he wanted or would have wanted,” Rose said. “I'm really sorry that this has happened.”
Although devastated, Gregory's sisters are leaning on each other to keep his memory alive.
“Honestly, I hope we get closer as a family. I think that's what he wanted most and in his honor we have to do it for him. Just for us to stay here. We're a family,'' Rose said.
Milwaukee Police told WISN 12 News on Monday that there are no people in custody. We contacted them Wednesday night with an update.
