It's an industry that's hard to quit. once again, D CEO We received an overwhelming number of nominations in this year's Commercial Real Estate Awards Program. After three lengthy judging sessions, the editors selected an even number of 100 projects, deals and vendors for recognition.
This year, the program's highest individual honor, the Pioneer Award, will be presented to Jack Matthews of Matthews Southwest. The developer and investor has carved into the south Dallas market with projects such as Southside on Lamar, Gilly's Dallas and Omni Dallas Hotel. Other local projects include restoration of historic buildings such as The Tribute, The Colony lakefront housing community, and Dallas High School. Mr. Matthews was recently selected to oversee a new and expanded 2.5 million square foot convention center in Dallas.
D CEO Editors this year created the Industry Impact Award, a special honor to honor Cushman & Wakefield broker Michael Wyatt, who passed away last September. Wyatt is passionate about promoting the Dallas metropolitan area, and has led initiatives such as Pegasus He created his Urban Trail Mobile app, Urban He Armadillo, Clyde Warren He Parks, and various cancer and education-related initiatives. This year marks the 13th year D CEO Commercial Real Estate Awards started in 2013. A variety of categories and specialties will be recognized, from Best New Mixed-Use Project and Best Industrial Lease to Commercial Real Estate Executive of the Year. The finalists represent many of the region's largest deals and developments, but also recognize smaller deals that are game-changing in their industries and neighborhoods.
Finalists will be featured in a special editorial package in the April issue. D CEO. Winners will be announced at an invitation-only event in March.
