ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WINA) – The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors will hold a special meeting on Friday, February 16, 2023 at 10 a.m.
The board will go into closed session to discuss plans for security at Lane Auditorium in the courthouse on McIntyre Street, according to a news release Wednesday afternoon.
WINA News legal analyst Scott Goodman said calling the special meeting shows a clear need.
“My guess is that they received some information about some sort of recent threat,” he says. So my guess is that this is probably a discussion about installing metal detectors or some other type of equipment to ensure that no one can enter the auditorium without a weapon. Masu. ”
The county has not said whether the board will make a decision or take questions after the meeting.
