The 29th Annual Writers Symposium by the Sea at Point Loma Nazarene University will feature award-winning authors from a variety of perspectives and genres starting February 19th.
The four-day symposium, which runs until February 23, will include speakers from best-selling authors Paulette Giles, Elizabeth Gilbert, Nick Hornby and Susan Orlin.

February 23 – Hornby and Olin perform together.Hornby, an award-winning author and two-time Oscar-nominated screenwriter, wrote the novel. High Fidelity, About a Boy, How to Be Good, Juliet Naked, and the 2020s just like you. His latest non-fiction book is Dickens and Prince: a kind of genius. Orian has been a staff writer for The New Yorker since 1992. She is a New York Times author and has written seven of her books, including: Library Books, Rin Tin Tin, Saturday Night and orchid thief. Her latest book is About animals.
Tickets start at $15 and may be available in book packages. Although most events will take place on the PLNU campus, Gilbert's lecture will take place at the Balboa Theater downtown.
The event will include the PLNU Student Short Film Festival on February 19th at 6:30pm, featuring screenings of award-winning student films and a discussion with director/photographer John Loewenstein. Masu.
