Tractor trailers are banned from highways across Connecticut in preparation for Tuesday's snowstorm.
Governor Ned Lamont signed an order prohibiting all tandem tractor trailers and empty tractor trailers from traveling on all restricted access highways in the state.
The ban went into effect at 12 a.m. Tuesday and will remain in effect until further notice.
The ban is in place along with neighboring states New York and Massachusetts, which have also enacted similar road bans.
“Dangerous conditions are expected during the peak of the storm that will make travel very difficult,” Lamont said. “We have consulted with neighboring states and have determined as a region that it is in the best interest of safety to enact a travel ban on tandem tractor trailers and empty tractor trailers during storms.”
