BOSTON – They're bald. they are blue. And they help you see the world in a whole new way.
Blue Man Group's Boston production has undergone a major makeover with new features. The team started adding new elements a few months ago, many of which focused on current conversations.
“We have opinions about AI, without judgment, and what it means. If this is what we agree on as a culture, we can It's like Mann Style: “Society, how we want to live and relate. Will this work? Should we do this?” Blue Man, who has been in the show for over 20 years. Captain Jason Maclin said:
“Right now, we're constantly thinking about where we are, what we want to say, what's going on in the culture, so to speak, and trying to go faster and trying to create work that has something to say about it. 'I think it's true,''' Maclin said.
“The show is always evolving. Even with previous material, we're always tweaking and adding new elements, whether it's musical elements, theatrical elements, lighting elements, visual elements, and this really… This is the biggest upgrade since I took over, and here we are,” said musical director and drummer Randy Wooten.
About half of the show is brand new, and Wooten said it brings a whole new energy.
“I think there's more of an element in the show that brings the audience up on stage and engages them in the work,” Wooten said.
But Maclin wants people to know that the long-loved piece is still intact.
“It's like they're still there and we're surrounding it with this new, really vibrant, modern content.”
Blue Man Group has added additional shows to its schedule during the February holiday period. You can see this production at Charles's Playhouse in Boston's Theater District.
