JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A local salvage yard will officially close its doors Tuesday.

Bob Eubanks was the owner of the business and had a lifelong passion for cars.
“I'm known for favoring Fords, and I used to race at dirt tracks in South Georgia and North Florida, but people knew me for Fords, so I had a special interest in Fords. “I decided to make it a reality,” Eubanks said.
Monday will be the last business day.
“There are so many memories to look back on,” Eubanks said.
Eubanks is retiring, in part because the industry has changed so much since the pandemic.

“It's become increasingly difficult to buy cars to sell,” Eubanks said.
And the other, his son was working to take over the business, but he passed away suddenly in 2021.
“After my son's death, I no longer had any interest in fighting,” Eubanks said.

Eubanks said there were once more than 600 cars on the property, but there are now about 20 left that need to be removed.
As she cleans out her garden and reflects on a lifetime of memories, Eubanks said she is in the process of selling the property.
“We are currently negotiating it,” he said.
