Former Haas star Romain Grosjean believes RB's 2024 F1 car has provided a “good idea” of what the new Red Bull RB20 will look like.
Red Bull's junior team unveiled its 2024 car in Las Vegas earlier this week, with the Faenza-based team rebranding ahead of the new season.
Changes for the former AlphaTauri team go far beyond identity, with the team looking ahead to 2024 in close alignment with the main team of Red Bull, the reigning constructors' champion and winner of all but one race last season. A relationship will be established.
Red Bull RB20 design hints emerging?
This new arrangement has been likened to the relationship between Haas and Ferrari, allowing the American team to use as many Ferrari parts as F1 regulations allow, with the result that the new-look RB equipment will be significantly reduced. is expected to enjoy an improved season.
Grosjean, who spent five seasons at Haas between 2016 and 2020, believes a deeper technical partnership is already evident in the design of the new RB, with the car providing a clear link to the potential design of the RB20. I believe it provides guidance.
Grosjean appeared on his YouTube channel and said of his RB team:

The many milestones Max Verstappen can achieve in the F1 2024 season
“I really like it. I think we've seen a lot of cars with carbon, and you can definitely see that color in that car.
“Faenza has always developed and designed its own cars for quite some time, but I think at the moment it is closer to last year's Red Bull.
“If you actually compare 2023 Red Bull with 2023 Red Bull, [RB] From 2024 there will be a lot of common characteristics and I think it makes perfect sense for the Faenza team to take advantage of what their big brother Red Bull team has been doing for the past few years.
“They are a ‘developmental’ car, a very common sponsor, a very common team owner, so for me it’s 100% right for them to use as much of the Milton Keynes stuff as possible. Percentage makes sense, the base team is doing it.
“If you look at the front wing, there are some similarities. If you look at the side pods, there are many similarities. If you look at the back of the car, there are many similarities. If you look at the rear wing, the same thing. .
“They draw a lot of inspiration from Red Bull, they use the same gearbox, the same engine, so they have the same cooling requirements, so that's possible and obviously that's what they do well. That's what happened.
“If we compare the 2023 and 2024 cars, we can see that although there are some similarities, the front wing design has changed slightly.
“The nose remains similar. They have transitioned from push rods to pull rods. [suspension] – Again, this is a Red Bull feature – [and] The sidepod entries and rear wing have also been completely redesigned.
“If you look at it from the side, you can really see Red Bull's very special sidepod design. The front of the sidepod is very high and has a very small opening, trying to get a lot of air under it. We're trying to get some big air in the back.'' A slide that comes down to the rear diffuser.
“This is very much inspired by last year's Red Bull, but I still think it's the right thing to do.
“This was the fastest car on the track. They use a lot of similar components, so why not do it when you can?”
“I think that probably gives us a good idea of what Red Bull will be like this year.
“Some of the features are a little different and a little extreme, but Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda should have decent cars this year.”
Red Bull will be the last team to launch a 2024 car next week, with the RB20 due to be unveiled on Thursday.
