PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation announced today that it has created a travel timetable for the Washington Bridge.
These graphs show changes in travel time for nine different routes on different days and times.
We also have specific data on observed actual travel times and actual travel times during the week prior to the bridge closure.
RIDOT shared that the travel tool uses the same dates that are shared by all common navigation and GPS devices.
this probe data Provides information about the speed of vehicles equipped with mobile phones that send tracking signals.
All speed data is calculated into travel times based on the length of each route segment.
Governor Dan McKee had this message about this new tool:
“We apologize for the disruption many Rhode Islanders are experiencing due to the Washington Bridge closure. Thank you for your continued patience. Together, we will repair bridges, do what's right, and keep Rhode Islanders safe.”
RIDOT updates these charts every weekday.
