Derbyshire digital marketing agency Purpose Media has made a nearly six-figure investment in green energy.
The company has invested in solar panels to provide clean power to its south Normanton headquarters, replaced all light fixtures with LED bulbs, replaced gasoline company cars with electric models, and upgraded staff and visitors. introduced free EV charging.
Managing Director Matt Wheatcroft said: “We are committed to sustainable operations and the university has helped us assess the impact we are having on the environment and recommend measures we can take to improve the situation. ” We are pleased with the progress of the project so far and the contribution it is making to improving sustainability.
The move represented a near six-figure investment for the company, but some of the costs were mitigated by a £20,000 Green Entrepreneurship Program grant from the university for the installation of 109 solar panels.
Mr Wheatcroft continued: “In addition to the emissions reductions we are achieving, we are also seeing significant savings on our energy bills. Even after installing two EV chargers, our electricity bills in the winter would still be reduced by 3 minutes. 2, which means we will not only be self-sufficient in the summer, but also be able to supply surplus electricity to the grid. Adding all this up, we think we will save around £20,000 each year.”
